Digitized Devices (also called Static Display devices)

  • Devices that are easy to program by recording a human voice (also good to use for other languages).
  • Good for simpler vocabulary needs. At this time, we are featuring devices with 4 or more message options, and tend to be simpler in the features they have (i.e. may only be direct select or scan, or one arrangement of messages, limited number of levels, etc.)
  • They use paper overlays which need to be physically changed.  Either the user has to have the physical/cognitive ability to do that, or a facilitator has to do it for them.
  • Funding information
    • These simpler devices are many times inexpensive enough to easily purchase.
    • Manufacturers of these devices, many times, tend not to provide funding assistance for 3rd party medical funding (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, etc.)
Equipment for preview or trial may be limited.
